Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how CC Switch handles information when you visit this website, download or use the open-source CC Switch application, interact with the project on GitHub, or contact us for support.
1. Scope
This policy applies to the CC Switch website at ccswitch.co, the CC Switch open-source application, documentation pages, tutorials, sponsor pages, issue discussions, and support communications controlled by the CC Switch project.
This policy does not cover third-party websites, model providers, API gateways, payment platforms, GitHub, social networks, or sponsor services linked from CC Switch. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
2. Information We May Collect
Website usage information
When you visit this website, standard technical information may be processed by our hosting or infrastructure providers, such as IP address, browser type, device information, referring page, requested URL, and access time. This information is generally used for security, reliability, abuse prevention, and basic operational diagnostics.
Information you provide
If you open a GitHub issue, submit a pull request, send an email, join a community discussion, or otherwise contact the project, we may receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, username, email address, diagnostic details, screenshots, logs, configuration snippets, and message content.
Download and repository interactions
Downloads, stars, forks, releases, issues, and pull requests are handled through GitHub or other distribution channels. Those platforms may process account and usage data according to their own privacy policies.
3. Local Application Data
CC Switch is designed as a local-first developer tool. Provider configurations, routing preferences, usage records, local service settings, extension configuration, and API keys are stored on your own device unless you intentionally export, share, sync, or submit them to a third party.
Depending on how you configure the app, CC Switch may help route requests from supported AI coding tools to selected providers through a local service. Request content, prompts, responses, API keys, model names, headers, and usage metadata may be sent to the model provider or gateway you configure. CC Switch does not control how those providers process data.
Do not include secrets, private source code, customer data, or sensitive logs in public GitHub issues, screenshots, emails, or community posts unless you have reviewed and redacted them first.
4. How We Use Information
We may use information for the following purposes:
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the website and documentation.
- Provide support, troubleshoot bugs, and respond to questions or feedback.
- Maintain the open-source project, review issues and pull requests, and plan improvements.
- Detect abuse, spam, security incidents, or misuse of public project infrastructure.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms when necessary.
5. Cookies and Analytics
The CC Switch website is a static documentation and project site. It does not require an account to browse. If analytics, CDN security features, embedded content, or hosting logs are used, those tools may place cookies or process technical identifiers according to their own policies and browser settings.
You can usually limit cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies should not prevent access to the main static documentation pages, though some third-party embeds or external services may behave differently.
6. Third-Party Services and Links
CC Switch links to or interoperates with services such as GitHub, AI model providers, API gateways, sponsor websites, documentation hosts, social platforms, and payment or billing services. When you click an external link, configure a provider, or send requests through a third-party service, that service may collect and process data independently.
Examples include, without limitation, provider API endpoints, OAuth or account portals, GitHub releases and issues, sponsor landing pages, tutorial platforms, and social media posts. Please review the applicable third-party privacy policy before sharing personal data, source code, secrets, or confidential business information.
7. Data Retention
Local application data remains on your device until you delete it, uninstall the application, clear configuration files, or otherwise remove the relevant records. Public GitHub issues, pull requests, comments, and community posts may remain visible according to the platform's retention rules. Support emails and project communications may be retained as long as needed to respond, maintain records, improve the project, or meet legal obligations.
8. Security
We use reasonable measures appropriate for an open-source project and static website to protect information we control. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your own API keys, local configuration files, provider accounts, and access tokens.
If you believe you have found a security issue, please avoid publishing exploit details or secrets publicly. Contact the project maintainers through GitHub with enough information to reproduce and assess the issue safely.
9. Children's Privacy
CC Switch is a developer tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to the project, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
10. Your Choices
- You can browse the website without creating a CC Switch account.
- You can delete local CC Switch configuration, usage records, and credentials from your device.
- You can choose which provider, gateway, or API endpoint receives your AI coding tool requests.
- You can redact logs and screenshots before submitting issues or support requests.
- You can request deletion or correction of personal information you directly provided to us, subject to legal, security, and platform limitations.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the website, application, provider integrations, or project operations change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the website or application after changes means you accept the revised policy.
12. Contact
For privacy questions, security concerns, or data requests, contact the CC Switch maintainers through the GitHub repository: https://github.com/farion1231/cc-switch. Please avoid including API keys, access tokens, private code, or sensitive personal data in public issues.
This page is provided for transparency and does not constitute legal advice. If you operate a hosted service, commercial deployment, or modified distribution of CC Switch, you should publish your own privacy policy that reflects your actual data practices.
